Over here at Shades of Pinck, we know no accomplishment is too small, so we look for any excuse to celebrate!

We recently pulled out a few Chappywraps and lit up the firepit to celebrate the season change. We didn’t need much else to enjoy the crisp air, but we did include a few packs of Tastykake’s new mini bundt cakes in our daily celebrations.

The summers in Columbia can be unbearable with the extreme heat, but there’s nothing like a refreshing and sometimes unexpected cocktail to cool things down! I was recently introduced to Jackson Morgan Whiskey Creams and have had fun crafting playful, southern-inspired drinks this season. Their American-made whiskey cream was crafted from a 1921 family original recipe and comes in curated flavors like salted caramel, peaches and cream + this delicious whipped orange cream I that we’re using in the cocktail below to reimagine a childhood favorite.

Last week Red Dress hosted their latest Dream Drop in Charleston and it was the most elegant + realistic Bridgerton-themed part you could ever imagine. Popping up all over the William Aiken House in Charleston, this event did not skip a beat when it came to every detail.

We entered through a flower-adorned archway and were immediately offered champagne by a man on stilts. This moment set the scene for the rest of the afternoon and the extravagance that was waiting for us!

Whether you choose to sip it by the pool or anywhere else on a hot day, the French 75 is refreshing enough to cool you off.

After showcasing cocktails that required vodka + tequila, we thought it was finally time to use the spirit that feels like an instant vacation: rum!!

A mojito is the classic Cuban favorite that pairs well with sticky heat and long afternoons. The ingredients were what you’d expect: limes, simple syrup, and some fresh mint from my garden. But this recipe put a little twist on the classic by adding fresh strawberries to the flavor!
