4 SUPER EASY Apps to Try this 4th Of July

Seriously still can’t believe that the 4th of July is this weekend. It marks the offical “middle of summer”, which means we’re on a downward hill to “back to school”. And if you ask me, the second half of summer alwayssss flies by.

I’m sure many of you will be attending festive events this weekend. If you’re like me, you hate arriving to an event empty handed, but also have very little time to put effort towards extracurriculars. Lucky for you, the SoP team has compiled a list of super simple recipes that will garner enough excitement as if you spent the entire day in the kitchen whippin’ it up. 1. American Flag Snack Tray

What you’ll need:

  • Raspberries
  • Strawberries
  • White Chocolate Covered Pretzels
  • Blueberries
  • Tray

Step 1: Starting from the bottom, lay the white covered pretzels in a row along the length of the tray.

Step 2: Combine the raspberries and strawberries into a row along the length of the tray.

Step 3: Repeat these steps interchanging the rows until reaching the middle of the tray.

Step 4: After finishing the middle row, begin laying the rows only 3/4 of the length of the tray.

Step 5: In the empty square space on the left side of the tray fill with blueberries.

2. Patriotic White Chocolate Covered Oreos

What you’ll need:

Step 1: Melt 1 tbs of shortening in a pan.

Step 2: Mix white chocolate into the the shortening by stirring thoroughly.

Step 3: Pour 2 teaspoons of the white chocolate + shortening mixture into the molds so that it covers the bottom

Step 4: Place an Oreo inside the mold and pour more white chocolate into mold until the Oreo is covered.

Step 5: Place the remaining white chocolate to the side and refrigerate the molds for 1 hour.

Step 6: Repeat the previous steps using blue + red chocolate so that you have a total of 6 for each color.

Step 7: Pull the molds out of the refrigerator, take the dessert out of the mold, and place them on a baking sheet covered in wax paper.

Step 8: Microwave the white chocolate that was set aside until it’s melted again (about 30 secs)

Step 9: Drizzle different colors over the dessert and add sprinkles to decorate.

Step 10: Let them cool.

3. Red, White, and Blue Deviled Eggs

What you’ll need:

  • A Dozen Eggs
  • Pot with lid
  • Knife
  • Bowl
  • Piping Bag
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 Teaspoon yellow mustard
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • White vinegar
  • Freshly ground black pepper

Step 1: Place the eggs  into a pot and fill with water until it’s an inch over the eggs

Step 2: Bring it to a boil (uncovered) and once they water is boiling cover the pot and place it on a cooler burner.

Step 3: Let the eggs sit in the hot water for 15-19 minutes.

Step 4: After waiting, pour out all of the hot water, replace it with cold water, and add ice.

Step 5: Let the eggs sit for 15 more minutes.

Step 6: Take out the eggs and crack them softly. Begin peeling, removing the yolk, and slicing them in half. Place the eggs yolks in a dish to the side.

Step 7: Mix together thoroughly one cup hot water, a teaspoon of Americolor food coloring, a tablespoon white distilled vinegar.

Step 8: Place the egg slices into the bowl and let them sit for 1-3 minutes. Then, take out egg whites and place on a paper towel to allow the excess color to drip off.

Step 9: Mix the egg yolks with the mayo, mustard, salt black pepper and 1 teaspoon of white vinegar until the consistency is smooth and then pipe them into the center of each egg slice.

4. Cheerwine Punch

What you’ll need:

  • Two 2-liter bottles Cheerwine, chilled
  • One 2-liter bottle ginger ale, chilled
  • Two 46-ounce cans unsweetened pineapple juice, chilled
  • Mason Jars

Step 1: Combine ingredients

Step 2: Pour in Mason Jars for achieve the Americana feel
